2023

Lyons Ranch hosted the 35th Annual Superior Genetics Angus Sale on Monday, March 6th, at the ranch headquarters south of Manhattan, Kansas. We were blessed with a great crowd and good weather. When the gavel last fell, 106 bulls averaged $7207. The top selling bull brought $13,500, lot 32, Lyons Manhattan 1251. Lot 18, Lyons Movin On 1035, sold for $12,000 The market stayed strong throughout the sale, and 30% of the bulls sold from $4500 to $6500.

2022

Despite an unexpected snowstorm the afternoon before, Lyons Ranch hosted their 34th Annual Lyons Ranch Bull Sale before a full and active crowd. The auction was held at the Lyons Ranch headquarters south of Manhattan, Kansas, March 7, 2022. The top selling bull, Lot 20, Lyons Manhattan 0137 was purchased by Munson Angus Farms, Junction City, Kansas, for $14,000. By the end of the sale, 99 fall yearling Angus bulls sold for an average price of $6459. Just under half of the bulls sold in the range of $4000 and $5500, and 90% of the buyers were repeat customers.

2020

We held our Annual Superior Genetics Bull Sale March 2, 2020, at the ranch headquarters south of Manhattan, Kansas. Ninety-four fall yearling bulls averaged $5585 with more than 70% selling between $4000 and $6500 to commercial producers in the state of Kansas. The top selling bull was lot 16, Lyons Bronc 8153, a son of Baldridge Bronc out of an S A V Resource 1441 daughter.

Lot 46, Lyons Powercat 8156, a son of S Powerpoint WS 5503 out of a Connealy Thunder daughter, was purchased by Genex Cooperative, Shawano, Wisconsin. His weaning and yearling weight EPDs are in the top 1% of the breed.

2019

We hosted our 31st Annual Lyons Ranch Superior Genetics Sale on Monday, March 4th, 2019.

When the gavel last fell, 92 fall yearling bulls averaged $5434.

2018

The Lyons and Langvardt family welcomed an active crowd of customers and friends to their 30th Annual Superior Genetics Sale on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the ranch south of Manhattan, Kansas. 102 fall yearling Angus bulls sold for an average of $6125.

The top selling bull of the day was lot 67, a son of Hoover Dam out of a Connealy Thunder daughter, purchased by ABS Global, DeForest, WI, for $21,000. After conducting a poll of their semen sales staff, ABS renamed him Lyons Manhattan 6205.

Hoover Dam sons topped the sale. The second high selling sire group of the day was made up of several very powerful sons of SAV Resource 1441 followed closely by bulls out of Connealy Thunder, RB Tour of Duty 177 and Connealy Comrade 1385.
