As she read and signed an official proclamation, we drove a group of first calf heifer pairs up behind Governor Kelly. Others in attendance included Kansas Secretary of Ag Mike Beam, several state legislators, commodity group representatives including the Kansas Beef Council and Kansas Livestock Association, Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Corn and the Department of Agriculture, as well as media members.

Politics aside, it was an honor for us to help kick off beef grilling season and bring an awareness of beef’s supreme role in our state’s economy.
